I am not doubting you by any means keefe007 but is there anyone else that has a network where Advantage SM’s are connecting to Classic/Legacy AP’s that can confirm my question?

Yes, you just need to run the sm’s in software mode

I have a classic 900mhz AP with 2 advantage SMs attached to it.

the set up you are requesting will work

you will not get any of the advantage benifits from this set up.
