Good day all, just wondering if there are a alternatives to cnMaestro? Can pmp 450 and epmp work with a snmp server for notifications, data etc?
Really appreciate the reply, what is hosting the dude? Do you have TIK routers at each site?
I am running an Mtik CHR instance in my VMware stack in our core running the Dude.

Sorry one more, lol! What hardware are you using to run CHR/The Dude. Please forgive my ignorance in this.
You can run The Dude on any Mikrotik hardware as it is just a RouterOS package. I am running a CHR as I already have a VMware cluster so it was nothing to just spool up.
The Dude is EOL from Mikrotik but it still functions and I have used it for at least 10 years as my primary SNMP alerting/monitoring server. I then use Aircontrol2, UISP, cnMaestro, and Tarana TCS as my vendor specific tools for things like config backups and FW updates.
Really any SNMP server will work you would just have to set one up and then configure the probes based on the Cambium MIB files for what you want to monitor.
Appreciate your reply and insight! I better do something before Oct 1, I just need to decide on what hardware to run the VM and CHR, I was looking at running The Dude on my core router but it is not recommended as per my research.
Why must it be done before October 1st? Did I miss some announcement about cnMaestro?
Yes statement released, cnMaestro will run till Oct 1, I need to find hardware to run either on prem, dude or any snmp.
So does that mean on-prem will stop as well as it has an anchor account to the cloud?
That is what I have been wondering and asking, but im think so. as per your insight, I am going to setup a VM with SNMP and enable snmp on my epmp and pmp devices. I just dont know what hardware and snmp software to use
For monitoring, LibreNMS has excellent monitoring for Cambium radios.
For management, I’m very concerned.
The statements from Cambium have said that when/if the Anchor is “severed” from on-prem, the on-prem controller will keep running, but you won’t be able to add/delete/replace any devices. So you can keep whatever you have monitoring and running, but you can’t swap failed gear…
So its basically useless without the anchor. We have installs scheduled for after Oct 1 and we wont even be able to them communicate with the on prem, flip sakes cambium
I think we might still be able to manually adopt them via CLI - but what is confusing is the devices still attempt to grab a subscription, either essentials or paid – but i do think that is still dependent on the tenant at which they’re adopted into.

@aka So If I have a device in on-prem cnMaestro and Onboarding Status is “Waiting for Device” but Cloud Sync Status is “Completed” does that mean the device will be onboarded to the on-prem even if the Cloud goes away or do I have to fully complete the Onboarding before the cloud goes away?
