Anyone changing the Ethernet MTU on the radio when using PPPoE on the radio ?

We use the PPPoE client on the ePMP radios with the usual 1492 MTU set by the mikrotik and I was wondering (while pulling my hair out trying to figure out why customer speed tests are so often garbage even though when put under load their connection easily delivers the rate it is supposed to) if changing the the MTU on the radio's ethernet port would make a difference.

Is anyone doing PPPoE like this changing the Ethernet MTU on the radio  ?

For a while, when the ePMP platform was still pretty new, I regularly increased the ePMP Ethernet MTU to 1564 when people complained about speedtest results, and it generally helped. I haven't had to do it much lately, though.
