we replace two AP450 with two AP450i and installed one UGPS between them, connected with the sync port in the two AP. the UGPS is powered by the sync port, no autonomous power supply.
we have used a sync cable with the pin out diagram indicated here (http://community.cambiumnetworks.com/t5/PMP-FAQ/Cable-Diagram-for-450i-to-UGPS/td-p/52198 )
AP450i talks with the UGPS but they do not succeed to sync:

noticing the invalid message count, we have tried different cable, but with no differences.
we also tried another UGPS unit, no difference.

ok, problem solved, even if i didn't understand what it was, but may be it can be helpful for someone.
in exact order we have done the following test after rechecking we have error in both ap.
detached second ap,
detached first ap, now UGPS is switched off,
reconnected first ap in the first port of UGPS and verifyied no error and sync functional,
reconnected first ap in the second port of UGPS and verifyied no error and sync functional,
reconnected second ap in the first port of UGPS and verifyied no error and sync functional,
reconnected second ap in the second port of UGPS and verifyied no error and sync functional,
reconnected both ap and verifyied no error and sync functional!
now it's a week it's working.
I would also only use the necessary lines in your sync cable. This was key with the PMP320s, as they had a nasty habit of seeing sync cables as default plugs if you had all the lines connected, but I think it's a good practice in general.

Hello BlackTC,
I have same issue, did you connected both ap sync cable at the same time? rebooted?
As noted in your other thread on this topic , I think adding the AC Power Supply to the center port on your UGPS will eliminate this issue.
