I’ve experienced poor throughput on BH20Mbps links
the configuration was the the default with
-7.2.9 firmware
-hardware shcheduling
-75% downlik
when down loading a 20MB file from a server (part of the Canopy network!) the speed would not excide 6,5 Mbps (this is a great difference from the 14Mbps agregate throughput)
Has anybody experienced something similar or were able to get much better results?
I was having a similar problem. It was not interference, the link dBm was solid and all the cables were good. I could link test between the Master and Slave and get 11M x 2.5M but downloading across the link was 6.5M at best.
Turned out my CMM was not functioning correctly (or maybe it was and it was just the best it could do). Replaced it with a CMMmicro and got 10.5M x 2M.
Actually it’s a CMMmicro what I’m using.
But I experienced this on more than one link.
and as you say the lik test was very good but not the actual download
how are you doing the test ?
Yes,
The link test between the BH Master and Slave was what was expected. When it was 50% we were getting 7M x 7M. I changed it to 75% and got 11M x 2.5M so the link was good.
I knew that it was an issue with the CMM because if I was at the router (outside the CMM) I would get 13M or better, but if I was inside the CMM at the tower I would only get about 5.6M.
I use http://www.speakeasy.net/speedtest. I am very close to the San Francisco server so I use that. It had proven to be very accurate and consistent.

The test is done just by copying a file from the server to a PC with windows explorer trough the BH links .
BH20 are 5.4 type
Reboot the CMMmicro and both backhauls.
Also make sure that the BH’s are linking at 100/full at both ends, and the the AP’s are also 100/full
For in network testing I deployed a MySpeed server at my head end and use Qcheck to test individual links during commisioning.
hi i’m italian!
i have the same problem only with bh 20 mb!
when i set downlink at 75% the BH link test it’s right 3.5mb and 10 mb,
when i transfer some data from one to onother pc i have 7 mb of max throughput from master to slave and 1.9mb from slave to master with the 7.2.9 release version, and with 7.3.9 the throughput it’s so bed.
i have found this problem only with BH module;the APA and the SMA, work correctly max of 14-15 mb of throughput in the same condition of rssi and jitter and configuration.

it must be an italian problem (I'm also from Italy!)
maybe it's a specific problem of 5,4 GHz ??
has anybody verified the effect on through put when syncronizing or not 2 collocated BH that are on oppsite frequency 5500 and 5700. In other words will sync improve throughput in the ipothesis that there is no interference ?
200MHz should be enough separation.
What is connected to the BH Master and BH Slave? Have you tried forcing averything to 100M/Full Duplex? If it will not link, you may have a Hardware compatability problem.
i have connected the PC to BH,but i haven’t try to forced averything to 100M/full, i will try.
but with an AP and SM i haven’t no problem of throughput
Because the link test between the BH Master and Slave is as expected, I would concentrate on cabling, network adapter compatability and settings, connection to the Internet. etc.
