I am new to the canopy radios and I am considering using it at our business here. Would it be possible to bridge 2 locations using just SM module? The cost is quite a bit less for the SM units, and I only need 2 radios anyway, so getting a full blown AP seems to be overkill for just 1 client. Thanks for the input.
SM’s may only talk to AP’s.
For a solution to fit your requirements, I would suggest a backhaul in the flavor of 2.4GHz, 5,2GHz, or 5.8GHz. Depending on speed requirements (can’t be too high since you were thinking SM’s), you could go with the 10 or 20 Mbps versions. You can also look into the Orthagon line which would provide you with even higher throughputs.
