If a slave is associated to an AP (be it ptmp or ptp) and you change the scan list I don't believe it should force a rescan. If anything, it should rescan only if the frequency in use was removed from the list.
Changing the scan list should not cause my backhaul to go down when it's already associated.

Josh, This is currently by design. We will look into improving this so it doesnt need a restart of the wireless driver.
