cacti ez problem

ok i have it installed, online and able to use the remote webpage thingie but i can not find any documentation on where to go from here.

the box itself sits @ root@localhost ~]#

i guess i just dont know what the next step is…im not very great at linux. any info would be great

Start from the login and passwords information posted here:

http://cactiusers.org/wiki/CactiEZInfo

After you install the box (*nix), you’re not going to use the actual console anymore…just hit it from across your network once you set the IP of your box by following these directions:

http://cactiusers.org/wiki/CactiEZTips

Once you get in, it’s all webbased from there…although still a pain (in my opinion) as some of the documentation wasn’t all that clear. A great step by step would help…you just have to play with it - - my biggest problem was once I added a device from the main welcome screen I couldn’t getit to show up anywhere. I was looking under Device Tracking instead of Management -> Devices…that was my problem.

Good Luck!

thanks for the reply, i was able to get it figured out and i love it

Ain’t it great?

I’m working on getting MacTrack going. So far no joy.

after seeing your post about it a few days ago i figured i would give it a go but with no sucess as well. that would be a nifty feature.

Where do you upload the “getCanopyStats.tar” file… it says just the /cacti, however I cannot find that.

thanks

Log into the Server Webmin at https://your_server_ip:10000. Go to Others/File Manager - this will load a JAVA app file browser

Go to /var/www/html/scripts

Here is where you will upload the .tar file - select unzip files and it will automagically unzip them and put them into the scripts folder.

Thanks again Jerry!

I can now graph SM’s Jitter and dbm howerver, I am not able to graph the Interface traffic up/down. Did you have any issues with that?

nevermind…

forgot to add: Select Motorola PowerQUICC FEC In/Out Bits

thanks

Is it: CactiEZ CD Beta - v0.2b

?

Isn’t there a new version coming out soon?

I have 0.8.6h

There’s CactiEZ, currently at version .02b, which is the ISO download to help you set up Cacti, which is currently at version 0.8.6i. I believe that 0.8.6h is the version in CactiEZ .02b, but I’m not sure…

poop.... I was hoping I could get off easily with Cacti EZ and also have the latest version of Cacti ... Jerry, did you build your own Cacti or did you use the Cacti EZ iso ?

Not too difficult to upgrade manually. Step by step instructions are here:
