Features

Out-band management VLAN
In this is release, the Out-band management VLAN feature has been added. which isolates the
management traffic for efficient and secure operations. The management interface is an out-band
management 100/1000-baseT Ethernet port (RJ45). It is used for local management and can be connected directly using an Ethernet cable. The default out-of-band IP address of the management port is 192.168.0.1 with a subnet mask of 255.255.255.0. For more information, refer to the Fiber OLT and ONU User Guide.

In-band Management
The In-band feature has been introduced in this release. This feature integrates the management traffic with the user data on the same network. It simplifies monitoring and control tasks within Fiber OLT for the efficient network management. Using this feature, you can configure and manage the Fiber OLT and ONUs through the uplink ports. For more information, refer to the Fiber OLT and ONU User Guide

IPv6 support
In this release, IPv6 support has been added. You must enable the IPv6 support (using the UI) for the management port to enhance connectivity and compatibility of Fiber OLT in the network operations. This support ensures seamless integration with the modern networking standards. For more information, refer to the Fiber OLT and ONU User Guide.

Netconf management support
NETCONF is designed to manage the Fiber OLT/ONT devices, retrieve configuration information, and implement configuration changes remotely. It utilizes Extensible Markup Language (XML) to encode the configuration data exchanged between a client and a server. For more information, refer to the Fiber OLT and ONU User Guide.

Network Time Protocol (NTP) support
In this release, Network Time Protocol (NTP) support has been added. With NTP, Fiber OLT supports the following operations:

  • Facilitates synchronized timekeeping
  • Ensures accurate timestamps for logs
  • Transactions and coordination between the devices
  • Promotes reliable and synchronized network operations
For more information, refer to the Fiber OLT and ONU User Guide.

Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP) support
SNMP enables the efficient network management of Fiber OLT. This feature performs the following operations:

  • Monitor and control the network devices
  • Enhances the visibility
  • Ensuring the optimal performance of the Fiber OLT
  • Troubleshooting capabilities
For more information, refer to the Fiber OLT and ONU User Guide.

DHCP option 82
Fiber OLT with DHCP Option 82, enhances the network efficiency in a Internet Service Provider (ISP) environment by:

  • Enabling granular control over IP address allocation.
  • Aiding in tracking, managing, and securing connections.
For more information, refer to the Fiber OLT and ONU User Guide.

Uplink /Downlink interfaces
Using the Fiber OLT UI, you can view the uplink and downlink interface details. Example: interface name, transceiver model, status, MAC ID, vendor name, number of ONUs connected, physical port, technology type, and detailed Rx/Tx statistics. For more information, refer to the Fiber OLT and ONU User Guide.

Throughput charts
The Fiber OLT UI displays the throughput charts. These charts provide the details of uplink and downlink traffic, offering valuable insights into network performance for the efficient monitoring and management. For more information, refer to the Fiber OLT and ONU User Guide.

ONT List details
You can access essential details of ONTs in the Fiber OLT UI, such as ONT type, state, and serial number. This ONT list provides a comprehensive insights for the effective network management. For more information, refer to the Fiber OLT and ONU User Guide.

Event logs
You can access the event logs for PON, NNI, and ONTs from the Fiber OLT UI. You can monitor and analyze these logs for network performance, troubleshooting, and maintenance purposes. For more information, refer to the Fiber OLT and ONU User Guide.

CLI commands
Fiber OLT supports the essential CLI commands for:

  • Efficient network management
  • Covering SNMP and SSH for secure access
  • Interface configurations
  • Software upgrades
  • Reliable reboot functionalities
  • Ensuring streamlined operations and control
For more information, refer to the Fiber OLT and ONU User Guide

cnMaestro support
cnMaestro support for Fiber OLT has been added. This support facilitates centralized network
management, streamline operations, monitor performance, and enhances overall efficiency through this integrated solution. It ensures a robust and responsive network infrastructure. For more information, refer to the Fiber OLT and ONU User Guide.
