I have a lot of the Cambium routers out there but the r195 is EOL. I need a replacement. I want to stay with the Cambium routers as I have them on cnMaestro
@steveschuh
If you can share details of your deployment use case, I will be able to guide you accordingly. Please send the information via a unicast email to sta001@cambiumnetworks.com.
Thank you.
You can’t onboard RV22 routers on your On-Premise cnMaestro. only on the cloud.
No port forwarding.
Excellent Wifi though
Well if there is no port forwarding that is a deal breaker for some of what I need to do.Thanks
@steveschuh
The RV22 is exclusively cloud-managed, and it fully supports port forwarding
It sounds like the RV22 will do everything I have needed with the R195 units. I will try one when they become available through my distributor.
Thanks All
we had to move on to another vendor. the rv22 are only half baked. overly complicate to provision. great coverage but meh. could probably deal with them if cambium was going beyond the r195 for routers, but looks like theyre simply our of the residential router/wireless game
We are heavily invested in the RV22’s
My experience is similar, MEH
They need an inline rj45 surge protector other wise they will inevitably fry on the WAN port only. They ship with this, however, it makes for a messy install and is confusing for the customers.
Configuring them is a pain in the ass, you have to setup subscribers, and sites in order to get them to work. This is a lot of work when rolling out lots of these devices with no obvious benefit.
For a while, they would go out of sync and they wouldn’t work until someone re synced them. So the customer just though there internet was out when in reality it was a cloud syncing issue. I haven’t see this issue for a while, so it may not be a problem anymore.
With that said, I have hundreds of these devices, if someone else comes out with a better system that technically works as well. I would start switching, but my WiFi issues with customers have been minimized.
Well I got one of these RV-22 to try out and after working with the R-195 type I hate the new RV-22.
