I am very sorry to hear about the good people at Cambium who have worked on reliable products and were laid off. I hope they all find new opportunities soon where their skills and dedication will be valued.
Will an on-prem CNMaestro be able to connect our APs and SMs to the SAS after October 1st? Currently, we have our CBRS equipment on the cloud CNMaestro.

You’d think for $3/mo per SM recurring revenue, somebody could keep this running and pay the AWS bills. At least to keep CBRS running. If not Cambium or a buyer of their PMP business, maybe a SAS vendor could take it over.
This is emotional rollercoaster for all those who do business with Cambium. I feel for the Cambium employee’s who were cut - all those were very passionate individuals serving the company.
It appears Cambium has only retained the top executive team to help facilitate the administrative resolution… they all get their golden parachutes. Morgan Kurk is a POS.
And the Fed portion of Cambium as they have contracts with Military for the PTP 700 series… Given Cambium is UK based - I dont think our DOJ or FCC can do much.
I’m confused about the UK connection. If I buy 450 or ePMP products, the box says Cambium Networks, Ashburton, UK. But I thought Cambium was a US company based in Hoffman Estates, IL. And Cambium Networks Ltd was the UK subsidiary. Not sure how much of the whole corporation is in the hands of the UK administrators in the UK version of Chapter 11 or 7. I was optimistic that the PMP product line and perhaps cnMaestro wasn’t part of that, and somewhere behind the scenes people were working furiously to either make a go of that business or find a buyer.

But I think they’re now dead, seeking buyer. Similar to what Aruba ION is going to do – they’re forced to sell their portfolio / IP. I’m worried Aruba ION will also pull the same rug.
I feel Cambium US is done, they fired their entire US sales team… No one will want to go back to work for Cambium US given this track record and how they treated their own employee’s, channel, partners and direct customers. Sour taste that will be long remembered. “Accounting issues, reminiscent of Nortel”.
Apparently, even though their headquarters is (or was) in the US, the US corporation is a subsidiary of Cambium Networks UK (which in turn is a subsidiary of a holding company incorporated in the Caymen Islands), which appears to mean that the entire thing is in the hands of the UK administrators at this point. Based on the public statement this morning, it looks like there is some plan to salvage (or sell) the fixed wireless business, at least.

In the US we have something called Chapter 11, Debtor in Possession. Then there’s Ch. 11 run by outside administrators, or Ch. 7 liquidation. Sounds like this is the second one, or somewhere between the second and third.
You’d have to guess mgmt was working on a sale or restructuring and ran out of time, maybe a deal fell through. Otherwise it looks like what the aviation industry I believe calls a controlled flight into terrain.
Yeah, that’s pretty much the conclusion that I came to. It’s not clear to me if the UK corporation is being liquidated or restructured. This statement: “At this point, it is anticipated that the fixed wireless broadband business will largely resume after a relatively short pause.” makes me think that they’re planning to transfer/sell the fixed wireless assets to another company (maybe the US subsidiary?) and keep Cambium operating without the unprofitable parts. That’s entirely speculation though.
