Introduction
This document highlights new features and significant updates in cnMaestro 3.0.3.
Important: Package Upgrade
cnMaestro On-Premises 3.0.3 is a Package release rather than a full OVA image. It must be applied on top of an existing 3.0.0 or 3.0.2 On-Premises installation.
Important: Web Browser
Restart your browser (or clear the browser cache with a hard reload) in case you still see the 3.0.0 or 3.0.2 version.
Important: Web Browser
CBRS customers should ignore the banner message “Your free 90-day trial will expire on ". No action is needed if you do not want to continue with cnMaestro X after the trial expires.
Important: Update Precautions for CBRS Customers!
If you are using CBRS with cnMaestro acting as an HTTP Proxy, we strongly recommend configuring an external HTTP Proxy before updating to 3.0.3.
Organization Support
Organizations work in tandem with the Anchor Account feature added in 3.0.0, which collect statistics and pushes notifications of device firmware images.
An Organization allows multiple Cloud NMS Accounts and Anchor Accounts to consolidate CBRS billing into one account (the Primary account) and share a single SAS ID.
Primary Account: In an Organization, the Primary account provides services such as Shared SAS ID and Unified Payments to multiple accounts.
Secondary Account: The Secondary account is linked with the Primary account and can share services with it (such as CBRS billing and SAS ID).
Features of an Organization
- One account is Primary, and all other accounts are Secondary.
- Accounts can only belong to a single Organization, and the Primary account cannot be removed from the Organization without dissolving it.
- Both Cloud NMS and Anchor accounts are supported, and either can be configured as Primary or Secondary. Organizations can be a mixture of Cloud NMS and Anchor accounts.
- Organization accounts can be in different countries and regions.
- The maximum number of accounts managed through an organization is 5.
Important: Update for CBRS Customers!
Cambium strongly recommends all cnMaestro On-Premises users create Anchor accounts for their On-Premises installations, so they can simplify CBRS management. This will become a mandatory requirement starting in cnMaestro 3.2.0.
Important: Configure Organizations
Users must have the Super Administrator Role to configure Organizations.
Actions for Existing CBRS On-Premises Users
Current On-Premises customers store their CBRS billing and SAS configuration in a Cloud NMS account (not an Anchor account). These customers need to go through a conversion process when they create their Anchor accounts, and the process differs whether devices are also managed though the Cloud. Cambium will assist with this process.
If an action is required for existing Cloud NMS users, the Cloud UI will display the following notification:
After clicking this notice, the user navigates to Services > CBRS, where they are presented the following options:
Link an Anchor Account to this Account: Select if managing CBRS devices in both a Cloud NMS and an On-Premises NMS instance. It creates an Organization that shares configuration between a Primary Cloud NMS account and one or more Secondary Anchor accounts. It does this without deregistering existing CBRS devices.
Convert this Account to Anchor Account: Select if all devices are managed through cnMaestro On-Premises. It converts the existing Cloud NMS account to an Anchor account.
The steps are described in detail in this video:
