Onboarding PON OLT Device
Important: OLT Device Onboarding
You must create a PON Network and PON Site before Onboarding a PON OLT.
The OLT can be onboarded by claiming its MSN (Manufacturer Serial Number) in cnMaestro by clicking the Claim Device option under Onboard > PON.
Alternatively, onboarding can be done by entering Cambium ID and Onboarding Key in the OLT Device UI.
Once onboarded, the OLT is placed into the Onboarding Queue with the Onboarding Status “Waiting for Approval” under the Onboard > PON tab. Select Edit Device to choose the PON Network and Site.
Approve Device icon to Onboard OLT in cnMaestro.
Once approved, the OLT will be listed in Tree under PON Network and Site.
Dashboards
Dashboards are available for the PON Network, PON Site, OLT, Ports, and ONUs.

Graphical and Data reports can be emailed to as many as 5 recipients.
An example email is provided below.
Home Site for cnPilot Home and RV22 Home Mesh Devices
A new Home Site type is available for cnPilot Home devices and newly introduced RV22 Home devices. These device types can no longer be placed in Enterprise Sites.
Guest Access Portal Self-Registration (SMS and Email)
Guest Access Portal Self Registration is available for business visitors, retail customers, convention attendees, sports fans, and hotel guests. Users can register through a splash page or with administrator assistance.
To configure Self-Registration, in the Guest Access Portal navigate to Access > Enterprise > Self Registration.
Google Authentication for Guest Access Portal
Google Authentication is available for Wi-Fi onboarding of BYOD employees and students in educational environments.
Custom Enterprise Applications
Configure Custom Applications identified by Fully Qualified Domain Names (FQDNs) or IP Addresses to capture statistics or control Web access. Navigate to Configuration > Wi-Fi Profiles > AP Group > Services and enable “Enable Custom Application” under Application Visibility.
Add/Create Custom Applications
Navigate to Configuration > Wi-Fi Profiles > Custom Applications and click Add New.
Enterprise Device and User Group Policy for Application Control
User Group Policies map a user to an Access Control Policy (ACP) and VLAN using a RADIUS Filter ID. To configure User Group Policy, navigate to Configuration > Wi-Fi Profiles > AP Groups > Configuration > Access Control and click Add New button under User Group Policy.
Device Policies map an Access Control Policy (ACP), Device Class, and Type. To configure, navigate to Configuration > Wi-Fi Profiles > AP Groups > Configuration > Access Control and click Add New button under Device Policy.
Antenna Model Configuration for XE3-4TN Device
A new option is added to configure transmit power for Radio 1, Radio 2, and Radio 3 based on the Antenna model selected. This option is applicable only to the XE3-4TN device model. There are three ways to configure the Antenna model.
Device Level
Navigate to XE3-4TN Device > Configuration > Advanced Settings > Radio and Location . Select the Antenna Model under Radio1/2/3.
AP Group Level
Navigate to AP Group > Configuration > Radio > External Antennas and select appropriate Antenna model.
Bulk Configuration
Navigate to System > Configuration > Select XV-XE series > Select XE3-4TN Devices > Configure > Select AP group from the Drop-down list > Radios and Select the Antenna model.
NSE 3000 Enhancements
Import/Export Option for DHCP MAC Binding List
NSE Groups enable importing MAC-to-IP mappings directly from a CSV file for scalable deployments. Users can append the imported bindings to the existing list or replace them.
DHCP Options
NSE Group in cnMaestro now allows users to set DHCP options for a DHCP pool. To configure, navigate to NSE Group> Network> Add new VLAN.
Conditional DNS Forwarding
Conditional DNS Forwarding allows users to specify DNS servers for certain domains. DNS requests for the configured domains are forwarded to the specified servers instead of the default DNS server. To configure, navigate to NSE Group> Services> Conditional Forwarding Rules > Add New.
Dynamic DNS (DDNS Providers)
DDNS enables NSE 3000 to be identified by a well-defined hostname on the WAN. Users can configure additional DDNS providers in Device Release 1.5, including Cloudflare, Dyn, GoDaddy, Hetzner, Namecheap, Porkbun, Route53, and other DynDns2 compliant providers. To configure, navigate to NSE Group> WAN> Dynamic DNS > Enable checkbox.
Source Network Address Translation (SNAT) Pooling
SNAT in NSE 3000 maps private internal IP addresses to the public IP address of the WAN. Starting from NSE release 1.5, users can configure additional public IP addresses on each available WAN interface for SNAT, allowing up to 8 public IP addresses. To configure, navigate to NSE Group> WAN> Source NAT Rules > Add New.
Note: Ensure you configure the additional IP address on the WAN before setting the source NAT rules.
Traffic Flows
Starting in release 1.5, NSE 3000 provides the capability to report existing flow entries for a selected client device.
NSE Groups
Inside the NSE Group, the default VLAN ID is changed from VLAN 2000 to VLAN 1. This is applicable only in newly created NSE Groups and does not impact existing ones.
Block External DNS Servers
NSE 3000 now functions as the default DNS server for all devices in the network. Any DNS requests from a client going to global DNS servers like Cloudflare or Google are redirected to the DNS server on NSE.
Vulnerability Enhancements
Vulnerability reporting is enhanced to provide additional information for Common Vulnerabilities and Exposures (CVEs). For each CVE, NSE 3000 includes a probability score ranging from 0 to 100%, indicating the likelihood of vulnerability exploitation.
Details about IDS/IPS Threat
The Security > Threat page now provides details of threats detected by the IDS/IPS engine of NSE. Previously users had to navigate to Notification > Event to get the details about the detected threat.
Serial Number (MSN) Claim for NSE and cnMatrix Devices at Site Level
Existing device claim support at the Site level is enhanced to accommodate NSE and cnMatrix devices. All enterprise devices (NSE, cnMatrix, and Wi-Fi APs) can be claimed into the Site.
Automatic Spectrum Analyzer for PMP
Analyze and monitor the wireless spectrum to optimize network performance on PMP devices running software version 22.1.0 and above. Navigate to Network Services > Spectrum Analyzer and click Add New to add a new Spectrum Scan for APs. Also, access the Spectrum Analyzer’s last scan and Noise Floor results at the device level Dashboard.
Device Dashboard
Software Update Support for PTP 700 devices
Software update for PTP 700 devices has been added.
BER Performance Graph for PMP450i SM devices
BER (Bit Error Rate) graph has been added under Performance for PMP450i SM devices.
Fix Now Scheduled for Assists
Fix an issue found in Assists at a scheduled date and time.
Flood Link Test for PMP 450m devices
In Tools > Link Tests, added Flood Link Test option under Link Test Mode for PMP 450m devices.
Interfering Sectors for PMP Devices in Maps
Option “Show Interfering Sectors” is added to Maps to display all sectors that operate with potential interference/overlapping frequency to a selected AP or SM.
Automatic Assists Generation on Configuration Changes for PMP Devices
The system will automatically generate assists on configuration changes for PMP devices running software version 22.0 and above.
Community Knowledge Base Search
A global option is added to search for Knowledge Base articles in the Cambium Community.
