I constantly run into issues with cnMatrix switches where the switch ends up in this quasi mode stuck disconnected from cnMaestro due to a config change in the switch group breaking the switch connection to cnMaestro. I know it is one of the “pending” configurations for the switch, but I don’t know which one, and have no way to clear the pending configuration changes so that the switch comes back online reliably.
It seems a good idea would be to have the ability to clear pending changes on a device (or maybe a “revert to…” option) to allow one to change which config set is being provided to the device.
Additionally, it seems a good idea would be to have a list of pending changes to be applied to the device (a “diff” output of sorts would work) which can then be navigated to identify what config changes might be causing issues – whether cnMaestro connectivity related or not – and to better understand the scope and impact of hitting the “Sync Configuration” button.
I apologize in advance if I’ve just missed something in cnMaestro that provides these functions – but so far haven’t been able to find them anywhere.
