We are new to Cambium, moving to the products from another vendor. Besides the cnMaestro “X” pricing being very confusing and the perceived lacking advanced features for end-customers.[Except when we manage as MSP or large deployment under single tenant].
Question on EasyPass:
Will Cambium continue adding features to the new EasyPass
Feature Request: MailChimp API integration or other mailerer. This would allow direct API export of user data [custom form data] to be sent to MailChimp.
Having these API’s built into EasyPass would justify the “X” licensing. Otherwise, third-party.
Lastly,
Issues with the EasyPass custom field entry. The Mobile number field is defaulting to Afganistan, not able to set default country dial prefix.
Also lacking third patty payment options.
We are enjoying Cambium hardware quality, pricing - but kind of peeved by subscription model pricing to justify, or to which customers we need “X” subscription.
Appears the AP’s only come with 1-year of “free” cnMaestro licensing subscription? We just onboarded some devices for a non-fully managed customer - no “X” pricing added onto their hardware.
Will we lose the ability to manage their devices after a year?
cnMaestro Essentials “subscriptions” have an expiry date that is automatically extended as the date approaches. This was a decision made early on during cnMaestro X development and is an implementation detail that doesn’t really make sense any more and probably shouldn’t be displayed in the UI.
@ntox , thank you for the feedback. Let me address some of your questions
Yes, we will continue to add new features to EasyPass.
Specifically regarding MailChimp API integration, we have not seen this request from other customers. If we can build a strong business case, this is something we can discuss. If you are willing to discuss volumes, please reach out to me directly.
I just tested, and I was able to set US. Am I missing something? (this is preview)
Does it not work on the client?
We have supported Paypal and few others in the deprecated guest access feature. We have Paypal support in the near term roadmap also. Do you think paypal support will meet your needs?
this a preview of upcoming cnMaestro release? US +1 is not able to “default”. Default right now is AF, which is not correct. We need customization to set country dial prefix - IE: US +1 and it save and be defaulted for all new users for data collection
Yes, PayPal.
What current payment gateways are supported with EasyPass? Please allow the most possible gateways.
More options the better, given it is required to have “X” subscription - given they were previously available. Also for us to not need to rely on third-party hotspot solutions.
Please Cambium… Realize we pay for “cnMaestro X”. BTW, “X” naming is silly. I hate typing it, and for asking for it when buying through disti.
cnMaestro Complete?
cnMaestro MSP? [More like it].
We’re converting from MikroTik for certain market. However, we deploy alot of Meraki and Fortigate for larger enterprise customers. Trying to pivot to Cambium from MikroTik as well as Meraki for specific customers - price point.
Yes, please. Look into this as customer feedback. Can we create a poll requesting what API’s for integration?
IE: We have restaurant customers who collect user data for promotions, sales, etc. If the customer is already “paying” for “cnMaestro X” - it makes sense. Why should we need to upcharge them for “MSP” level “cnMaestro X”, when we can instead configure them as a seperate “tenant” and them leverage a third-party solution.
Looking for MailChimp or similar for API to push data collected from EasyPass portal.
Maybe others agree with me here on a fustration with Cambium decision on cnMaestro “X”. It’s a stupid name also why should we upgrade to “X”, or also instead pay for advanced care?
“X” only makes sense for us MSP/WISP that need the addtional features or data retention. Otherwise we have to pass down the cost to customers.
Lastly, Coming from Meraki. How do we as MSP’s handle an “offboarding” or “offload” of an existing customer under our MAIN cnMaestro tenant if they decide to goto another vendor?
With Meraki, we simply turn over or remove our MSP access.
If cnMaestro had better tenant/customer organization - it would be cleaner. THEN at this level we apply the “X” licensing. More tiered? it would still be a single pane of glass.
It is nice to have a single tenant “MSP owner account” with all sub customer networks. However, we’re already finding it annoying when deploying new Cambium locations of how the WiFi WLAN’s are all tied together. We should not see ALL WLANs – only show us WLANS per network group
Hi Anthony, I can assist you with your requests and provide you with some additional information. Please DM me with your contact information and I can arrange a meeting.
