Is there anyway to setup a “preferred” Mesh Base for the others to use if its available first? We are finding mesh clients picking other mesh clients (further away) than the wired AP we want them to peer with.

You can use MAC-Authentication Policy to restrict Mesh clients connecting to Mesh Base.

This option is available under Access when you select mesh mode as Base.
