I work in the event industry and have been trying for some time to fit the Cambium switches in an enclosure for outdoor use. I have tested different variants, sometimes successfully, sometimes not. I am convinced that there are quite good designs for this.
Does anyone have some photos of self-made outdoor cases for the cnMatrix switches?
The best in my experience are electrical cabinets.
We have used them many times. They are safe, grounded and you can easily run cables out of them.
Here is an example
Here is one of the cases I use at events, but only in places protected from the rain. The case is from Thomann (thomann.de), at the back I have installed a 2U cover with cut-outs for the Powercon power supply (Neutric) and a fan. The Powercon plug is looped through so that other cases can be supplied with power. I had to attach two rails to the rear for 19” mounting. The Thon case is very light, but protects the switches reliably. The intention was to have an inexpensive, yet easy to transport and flexible solution. The cases are fitted with switches, firewall, UPS, power strips etc. as required and simply stacked on top of each other.
