cnRanger Inquiry

Hi all, just curious if anyone is running cnRanger in Canada? Is there any info anyone can share in regards to access to unlicensed or licensed band? How does this product do in more foliage deployment at short range, 1km being the furthest. What type of bandwidth packages are you offering your customers?

cnRanger is an LTE-based product line. It is not EOL, and is readily available in stock. While we are not actively developing new software, the current software is stable and there are many customer deployments around the globe (though I am not aware of any specific users in Canada).

2.5 GHz will do well overcoming some obstructed paths at short range, but limited spectrum (and efficiency in using that spectrum) will limit the total usable throughput. In a 20 MHz channel, you can expect ~90 Mbps of total throughput, double that if you can employ carrier aggregation. We have a Category 4 and Category 6 CPE available.

The really nice thing about this solution is that it eliminates the hassle of using LTE because the core is embedded in the BBU and it deploys in a very similar way to our other PMP solutions.

Is cnRanger equipment still available? If a BBU or RRH died, would we be able to get replacements? Are the CPEs still only CAT4 or CAT6?

cnRanger products will be available for sale until 3/31/2025. Yes, the UE’s are still CAT4 and CAT6. No new UE’s have been released.
