cnReach radios are specified for operation over a power input range of 10 - 32 VDC. This wide range is particularly useful for applications where the radios are powered by batteries charged from solar cells. The ability to operate reliably down to as low as 10 VDC means that the link will remain active as the battery discharges and the supply voltage drops.
This capability has been thoroughly tested under lab conditions designed to simulate a slow decline in battery voltage over time. Continuous bidirectional data transmission across the link was employed to prove the stability of the radios under these conditions, and the cnReach radios yielded solid performance all the way down to the lower spec limit. The radios have also been shown to perform reliably when operated over many hours at this limit, demonstrating their suitability for deployment under demanding conditions.
