Topology:
V1000 — POE — Laptop
- Connect the V1000 to your laptop via Ethernet through the PoE injector.
- While in Recovery Mode, the V1000 will be accessible at
http://169.254.1.1/
Configure your laptop with a static IP address in the same range, such as169.254.1.100. - If the unit is currently powered off, turn it on and wait approximately 120 seconds for it to fully boot.
If it is already on, proceed to the next step. - Power cycle the unit briefly — turn it off, then back on within 5 seconds.
- On your laptop, open a web browser and navigate to
http://169.254.1.1/ - Click on Factory Reset to initiate the recovery process.
Note: Compute the link-local IPv6 address corresponding to the MAC address of your V1000 and perform continuous pings from your laptop. IPv6 pings should work successfully when the V1000’s LED is solid green. You should then be able to access the V1000’s GUI via its link-local IPv6 address, after which a factory reset can be performed.
