Connectorized 900 sm

I have a connectorized 900 sm that the radio has gone bad. After opening the casing it looks like the connectorized connection is merley taped to the back of the antenna. Can I move it to a non connecterized radio and use it there or is there something altogether diffent with the radios themselves? Could I put it on a 5.2 sm?

Do you mean it is zip-tied to the radio? They are actually soldered onto the circuit board.

Must have run out of solder, mine appears to be just taped to the board.

We have taken a number of units out of their cases. In no unit was the coax just "tapped" to the antenna.

There are two points on the circuit board where the connector is soldered to the board. That is the case with all connectorized units.

This leads to the question, are you SURE the radio has failed and that the problem is not a broken coax connection?
