We’re attempting to map out our new ePMP 4600 6ghz equipment, we’re using the 90 degree sector antennas. When we do our coverage they are coming out like they are omnis, with full 360 coverage regardless of azimuth. Has anyone run into this or have an idea of where I need to be looking to get this resolved? We have opened a support request as well, just trying to get some answers.
Matt,
I’m running a test to confirm on our end. I don’t think this should be the case. Is it possible that you are just seeing really weak signal on the back of the tower? If you use the signal slider to filter the weaker signal does it look right? (i.e. Moving your signal slider to -72dBm.)
Thanks,
Seth
Yes, if we move down to -72, it looks much more like a standard sector. Do we just have something wrong with the AP settings to generate coverage that it’s showing us where signals are -100dBm?
Matt,
Likely you haven’t done anything wrong. (…unless your EIRP is super hot.) It’s just the way that we built cnHeat where we show signal (intended and unintended). Some planning tools will clip coverage at the edge of the sector, and we chose not to do that. We might add that as a feature in the future though.
Thanks,
Seth
