This isn’t exactly on target but if successful Canopy will certainly be part of it. Customer looking to replace a Type 5 or 3002 leased line with terminal servers converting RS232 to IP and serial tuneeling through an IP network. I can make this work great running 2 pc’s with term emulation to send text back and forth but cannot get my DBS to communicate back with my RNC. This serial connection through modem is synchronous and my testing with PC’s was an async connection. Does anyone with experience wioth term servers think that they can be config’d to support a synchronous application. If this is viable it could represent a huge cost savings vs leased line and a huge Canopy opportunity extending IP out to the radio sites where broadband cannot be deliverred via wireline.
