Deleting a device from Maestro on-prem takes 5 minutes to complete

Deleting devices from the Maestro on-prem is taking up to 5 minutes and in some instances is failing and has to be re-deleted. Previous versions removed offline devices almost immediately, but once we upgraded to 5.1.0-r4 that time increased drastically.
We are running on-prem as a virtual machine with 16 CPU and 128G of memory with it barely using 4% of CPU and 11% of memory; network and disk usage is also low. Is it the tie-in with the Cloud account that slows things down so much? I have time to grab a cup of coffee between the time the device is told to delete and when it actually finishes the job. If too many devices are told to delete in a short time frame, there is a good chance at least one of them will fail to delete and then we have to re-delete that device. Is it the tie-in with the Cloud account that slows things down so much? Anyone else having this issue or have suggestions?

interesting I will test this tomorrow on my super low-scale on-prem CNMaestro and will let you know how it goes

Onprem instance

On-Premises Instance

  • Version: cnMaestro 5.0.0-r5 (2CPU 4GB - very low-end VM instance)
  • Process Timing:
    • Start Time: 21:37
    • Completion Time: 21:39
    • Duration: Less than 3 minutesThe device was removed successfully within approximately 3 minutes. Since the message indicates that the process may take “several minutes,” this performance is expected for the on-premises instance.

Cloud Instance

  • Version: cnMaestro 5.2.0
  • Start Time: 21:41
  • Completion Timing: The device was removed within 7 seconds, but changes only became visible after refreshing the network tree (e.g., by navigating out and back in).The cloud instance does not display a spinning indicator during the process (observed using Firefox). This may cause a delay in perceiving the operation’s completion without manually refreshing the view.

So the on-premises instance appears to be functioning within normal expectations. If resource concerns arise, you can verify system performance under Administration > Server > Monitoring (e.g., checking CPU and memory utilization).

The cloud instance (5.2.0) shows significantly faster actual removal (7 seconds), but the UI does not immediately reflect the change, necessitating a manual refresh to see the updated network tree.

Interesting. It seems I need to order more patience!
