Direct cable or crossover cable?

What type of cat5e setup do I have to use if I have a PTP 550 connected to my computer in TX part A? On the RX part B I have connected another PTP 550 radio to a switch. In which case do I have to use direct cable or crossover cable?

Most modern network equipment employing gigabit or higher ethernet interfaces employ something called “auto mdi-x” which will automatically sense if you’re using a straight through or crossover and work with either cable. I’m pretty sure you can just use a straight through cable just fine from the radio’s PoE to your switch.

OK.
Thanks.
Then I can use the T-568A or T-568B straight thought cable anywhere in the system. Regardless of whether I use in TX straight thought cable T-568A and in RX straight thought cableT-568B.

There’s actually a Cambium forum post about this question. What seems to be the recommendation is to use T-568B. This is the what we also use throughout our network.

Eric.
Thanks for your answers.

We have definitely been spoiled in recent years with this. I can’t remember that last time I needed a crossover cable. I can remember some very old equipment that had a switch on the power supply to specify straight thru or crossover.
