We bought the new switch (EX2028-EE8F40) in the company. We attached the console cable to the console port of the switch, and the other end to the laptop. We read the documentation which instructed us to use the login credential “admin” as a user “admin” password. After typing accordingly, the switch again asked, “Enter Password to unlock the console”.
I wonder what it is? There is no such thing in the documentation.

Since this is a new switch, can you do a factory reset of the switch and try again?
After the reset, once the switch is booted completely, you have to enter admin / admin as the default username and password. Then, you will see the option to change the password.
If this is a brand-new switch the login credential admin/admin should work. I suspect the password had changed on the switch. Reset the switch to factory by pressing and holding the reset button. The switch will reboot after about 10 secs.
