Hi, ePMP 1000 IEEE 802.1ad (QinQ) not work.
Scheme:
Screenshot network settings ePMP 1000 (AP):
All devices MTU 1700. If instead ePMP 1000 user PMP 450, all OK.
Where I made the mistake of setting 802.1ad (QinQ)?

Hi madmax123,
ePMP does not fully support Q-in-Q. For now, its just a pass through. That said, ePMP recognizes the first .1q VLAN (303 in your example above) and can map to another VLAN or take action on it depending on whether you have it configured as a data VLAN or Memebership VLAN. Otherwise, its just a pass through.
Hope this helps.
Thanks,
Sriram
Hi Cambium_Sri, thanks for answer.
Good. If not QinQ, then why we need a vlan mapping (with c-vlan and s-vlan)? After all, it is the same QinQ, right?
Hello Madmax123,
VLAN mapping just provide VLAN 802.1Q Tags replacement, but QinQ provides VLAN 802.1Q Tags incapsulation in second layer 802.1Q Tags.
Thank you.
Hi Cambium_Sri,
can you exactly clarify and/or correct about what is the expected behaviour in the following scenarios:
-data vlan id not set -> client frames tagged and untagged are passed
-data vlan id set, no membership vlan configured -> client untagged frames are tagged with data vlan id, client tagged frames are dropped
-data vlan id set, membership table configured -> client untagged frames are tagged with vlan id, client tagged frames belonging to membership table are passed(however it looks like they are dropped anyway ?!?!?), all other client tagged frames are dropped
-data vlan id not set, vlan mapping configured, membership table configured with c and s tags -> client untagged frames are dropped, client tagged frames belonging to cvlan are passed and swapped client tagged frames not belonging to membership table are dropped
-data vlan id set, vlan mapping configured c tag different from data vlan id, membership vlan configured with s vlan tag anc c vlan tag -> client untagged frames are tagged with data vlan id, client tagged frames belonging to cvlan are passed and swapped client tagged frames not belonging to membership table are dropped
I need tagged customer frames to be encapsulated in another vlan header. This is 100% possible on linux stack. How do we achieve it on the cpe?
Regards,
Hi,
You are right with every statement.
As it was mentioned above QinQ is not supported now on ePMP devices.
However this feature is already added to features short-list which are planned to be implemented.
Thank you.
Thank you Fedor. Do we have any time frame estimation for this?
Hi,
Unfortunately I don't have estimates on this feature for you now.
Will try to keep you updated in this topic.
Thank you.
Hello,
Is there any update about QinQ feature?
