Greetings,
Can I use two PMP 4625 as a PTP link?
Hello there! You mean ePMP F4625’s? Yes, you can use them in PtP mode. If you’re using them in the USA/FCC region (IIRC CA/IC has the same rules), there are some extra caveats to using them. Both radios will need the USB GPS puck, and the master side will need to have good GPS lock and access to the internet to reach the AFC database before it can be cleared to transmit. ALSO, you cannot sync the F4625’s tx/rx with other radio systems.
If you want to research the AFC for 6GHz availability at your sites, you can check out this Cambium tool here:
Greetings,
Thanks! ill check it out asap!
Greetings,
Working like a charm. however, how does the power graph ( an example screenshotted below) work? what do the different bars represent and how do we know if a set of spectrum is being used or not?
In addition, if the unit loses power, how long until the AFC reassigns the allotted power output?
Grey bars represent usable space (although some are not large enough for a 20MHz carrier). The taller the grey bar, the higher the allowed EIRP (up to 36dBm). If your carrier overlaps multiple grey bars, the AFC will reduce EIRP to that of the lowest bar.
White spaces represent reserved or adjacent incumbent licensed operations.
AFC users do not register in the AFC and are not afforded any protections from other AFC users.
AFC users are not afforded any protections. Anyone can use an AFC compliant radio to operate in 6GHz.
Yes, it will not show even another 6Ghz you are running under AFC. You will have to utilize the spectrum analyzer to determine what is the best amongst the selection shown by the AFC.
