ePMP AP Just "Stops"

We're running 2.4.3 but I've seen this in prior versions..

The AP is running on 5195, (non DFS) set to manual and the AP just "stops" broadcasting.

We've had it on the same frequency for months now, so this isn't a new change.
I shifted from manual to "auto" the AP stayed on the same frequency but started broadcasting again.

This is a little unnverving that an AP will just stop broadcasting for no known reason.. and I've seen it on other APs.
I suspect there's some "flaw" in the hardware itself.  (Sorry, it's also a GPS AP.)

Thoughts?

Thanks much.

Hello,

When you say AP "stops",

- do the AP stops transmitting?

- do you see the SMs dropping off from the AP?

- is this AP using GPS Sync and is the sync source the on-board GPS?

- do you have any syslogs from the event?

Just trying to narrow down the failure mode.

Regards,

Luis

Yes.
Yes.

Yes, yes.
No, not yet.

It's done it a few times this week, today multiple times. I've enabled the sys log so hopefully I'll have something to show for it.

Thanks.

Hi,

One reason the AP "just stops" is if it loses GPS sync. The transmitter shuts off (once the Holdoff timer expires) when it loses sync. Syslogs will tell if you the AP is losing sync.
