4.7.0.1 is the recommended release for e1k/e2k/e3k radios. If you’d like to try a beta, then 4.7.1-RC18 is what a number of operators are using with great results so far.
I don’t know when the 5.x firmware train will merge with the 4.x firmware train with a unified firmware for all ePMP radios.
Eric is (as always) correct and technically 4.7.0.1 is the ‘recommended version’, because it’s the most recent official release.
But, 4.7.0.1 was also a very early version of the 4.7.x firmware, and it’s known to contain a number of bugs. So for me, version 4.7.1-RC18 has all the known bugs with 4.7.0.1 resolved. In my opinion, it’s much better. I normally wouldn’t put an RC in wide production, but we have about 400 radios currently on 4.7.1-RC18 with no deal breaker issues.
