ePMP Software Release 5.9.2 is now available

We run 5.10 on all of our legacy e1/e3k radios and it seems to be working fine. I don’t think they’re working anymore on the 4.x line, and so bug fixes for these legacy radios are being folded in to 5.x.

FYI… the asymmetrical uplink feature is only available on e4k radios. You can find details on how it handles legacy radios here:

Thank you.
I hope also in an official response from @aka

Hi @Maggiore81,

I would not underestimate Eric’s input! As he has much more practical experience running WISP then me. Along with a solid Cambium gear experience.

If up to me then yes! Our best practice is to keep everything on the latest stable. Which is 5.10 right now.

In 4.8.1 we had slightly broken WLT and later we had implemented a couple of current security improvements. Asymmetric uplink is worth upgrade as it significantly improves sector performance under interference.

Hello
what is WLT ?

So the 4.8.xxx will no longer be developed/improved?
I have now moved to 5.9.2

Wireless Link Test

4.8.1 is the last release for N and AC radios only.
Bug fixes and new features can be added to the next release only.
We are about to publish 5.10.1 beta now and then will be 5.11 with new features.

Hello thank you for your answer.
So on a network N and AC only, has sense to put 5.9.2 or it is better to keep on 4.8.1 ?

If you are already on 5.9.2, I don’t see any sense to downgrade.
Better give us some more time and upgrade everything to 5.10.1.
It will mean that all known issue are already addressed.

I have the same issue of HIGH cpu after 5.9.2 from 4.8.1 - Will be a 5.9.3 with the fix? @Fedor

The suggestion to disable the “crash reporting”, how can we disable en mass?
maybe with a ssh command? it is the feature named “Share Anonymous Crash Reports” ?

Where can I disable that feature? Thank you

I have disabled the anonoymous crash reports, but the cpu ramained the same. I have seen a lot of higher cpu. The moment in the graph where the cpu is higher, is when upgraded from 4.8.1 to 5.9.2

There already is a 5.10.0 since the beginning of April, and I also believe there will be a 5.10.1 release shortly to address some issues in 5.10.0 which have been reported. The release notes for 5.10.0 do say that the ‘abnormal increase in CPU usage’ has been corrected already.
