I was told at training that I could power the ePMP1000 using Tycon or UBNT 24 v POE's and not have a problem. I asked for clarificaiton that even though the + / - is reversed that there wouldn't be a problem. I asked for clarificaiton on that clarification and again was told yup - no problem.
Well I plugged in a EPMP1000 into a UBNT 24V POE this AM and now I have a dead Ethernet port on the 1000.
Having to go into every house and pull the POE before doing anything makes swapping customers over a lot more work.
Why not just do the same thing as the rest of the industry ?
Only a few specific models of ePMP radios are Cambium/UBNT cross compatible. The ePMP 1000 radios (non-GPS, and GPS) are NOT backwards compatible with UBNT PoE's. I'm very suprised that the instructors did not tell you the specific radios that are compatible. Currently the Force 180, Force 200, and 2.4 CPE radios are backwards compatible with UBNT PoE pin out.

Thanks for the info Eric. Is there an 'offcial' document from Cambium that shows this ?
