When upgrading APs and you select to only upgrade X at a time, it will upgrade the firmware and then move on to the next batch, then reboot all the APs at the same time. Switches update properly by upgrading the switch firmware and then rebooting, depending on the X number of switches you select to upgrade at once.
Hi Corey,
Thanks for reporting this. The behavior you’re observing with APs is actually by design in cnMaestro’s firmware upgrade job workflow.
When a Software Update job runs with a gradual rollout (X devices at a time), cnMaestro intentionally upgrades all devices in the job first, and then sends the reboot command to all of them together at the end — rather than rebooting each batch immediately after its firmware is flashed.
The key reason behind this is to handle daisy-chained device/Mesh Setup topologies safely.
To perform batch updates and reboots - Enable “Perform batch updates followed by reboot” under Job options.
