Don’t know what I can be doing wrong… Cell phones and laptops can connect to the AP but the Force 300 never sees it. Even put the correct AP info into the 300-16
Have tried every configuration possible. Been installing Engenius and UBNT for almost 20 years.
300 Spectrum Analyzer shows channels in operation…
While the ePMP F300 radios use an 802.11ac Wi-Fi chipset, they are not designed to be used with traditional Wi-Fi AP’s. They are only designed to be used with other ePMP radios.
Hi Tim. As Eric said - the ePMP line doesn’t talk WiFi… it as an improved ‘language’ designed for long range outdoor use, with GPS synchronization and the features go on and on… so while it’s in the same frequency range as WiFi devices, they speak a MUCH more sophisticated (and incompatible) language, and so an ePMP Force 300-16 is just not the right type device to connect to a WiFI AP.
If you want an ePMP AP, then the ePMP 3000 is the correct AP to use in order to connect Force 300’s to it.
OR if you want a WiFi AP, then you’ll need to use a WiFi client device (not a ePMP Force device) to connect to the WiFi AP
So i can’t connect to the cambium 500 series AP.
What a waste of time. Stupid distributor never mentioned this.
I now have a older (but new) UBNT M5 connected to the 501.
WiFi and ePMP (and also PMP450) are all totally different families - all have their different use cases, and they all speak different languages. So bo, the ePMP line are NOT generic Wi-Fi devices, and won’t connect to a Wi-Fi router.
Thanks… Ok only problem I have now is the UBNT (linked to the 501) will not pass or receive a IP Address to my Laptop. Sees the AP hit select and it connects shows connection speed
UBNT can connect to my phone hotspot, Starbucks WiFi and laptop gets a IP Instatly. And my laptop and phone work on the 501 great. I’m fairly sure must be a inconpatability since UBNT M5 does have airmax and I’m guessing 501 don’t like that… But I do like the 501… great dual band radio! But just remembered that I didn’t rebbot the 501…
And of course I return my network card to DHCP
Thanks!
I know what to use to make this link work fine but just wanted to put it together with stuff I already have.
Tried that… doesn’t make any difference (off or on) when connected to other AP’s
But did try it when connecting to Cambium 501.
Thanks for the responce… just can’t figure out why the rocket M5 will connect to any AP except the 501…
Updated the 501 firmware to 4. something… UBNT connected immediately…
But every other radio could connect to the 501 except the Rocket M5…
Devices that worked before firmware update
3 different phones
2 laptops
2 Full Time Running Nest Cameras
And a Microtik Client Radio
Thanks!!! to the people that responded to my posts!!!
