Hi all, I am dealing with a Force 300-25 with its ethernet status showing down. Customer reached out one evening and logged into antenna and it was down. Went there the next day and everything was working fine connected directly to laptop(customer could not reproduce that as their laptop has no ethernet port). So we figured it was the router, put in new router and it was good to go. Got a message this morning saying it was out again and sure enough the ethernet status shows down again and nothing seems to bring it back. Who has encountered this as of late? Had this pop up a few years ago and just swapped the antenna but was just curious if there was a fix, as it looks to be intermittent.
Could be an issue in the cabling or the cable end.
After you’ve exhausted double checking the cable, ends, and PoE… you could try disabling Smart Speed:
Experiencing the same with 300-19 in new deployment:
- switch sees port going up and down at random intervals
- switch and cambium powered from same power panel
- POE injector replaced - tested OK on bench - both new OEM product
- patch lead replaced (tested OK anyway)
- cable run tested OK - replaced anyway
- switch is 1GB capable (but set to Auto), but 300-19 negotiates down to 100MB
- changed switch ports - same conditions
- if switch port is set to 1GB the 300-19 does not come online
- was ver 4.7 firmware, now 5.9 - no change to conditions
A sister pair is working as expected.
Reseller has no idea (time to change reseller i guess).
This particular device is on its initial deployment…
Hi Eric, thank you for the suggestion as I had tried that with no change. I swapped out the radio, stayed at the customers site for an extra 30mins and all seemed well. 2 days later customer reached out and said it was working fine for 2 days but then acted up. I replaced the rj45 connector at the dish side and so far no word from customer, fingers crossed. The reason I went straight to swapping the radio is because 2 other times I tried everything one would do before swapping and only swapping fixed the issue. Thank you for your time.
Yes it is a very annoying issue as it is hit or miss if its the radio or a different issue.
