Good day all, I am troubleshooting a Force 400c Aux/Fiber port issue as it does not have traffic flow through it when activated. I have tested the fiber with visual fault device and all is good there.
I have the aux port disabled right now and just using Eth for power and data but the radio sees the connection…
on which FW does it happen?
When activated SFP port is added into a transparent bridge along with copper port and wireless interface. It should not unpower SFP when disabled.
Could you send me a techsuuport file on 5.8.0?
We are running 5.6.1… we had to replace the previous radio that had some eth port issues but the Aux worked fine but after installing the replacement the Aux had issue. I can update to 5.8 but would it really matter?
You’ve been in this forum long enough to know by now that the development pace of e4k is quite fast and it’s pretty much ALWAYS a good idea to be running the newest recommended firmware before filing a complaint. The main reason is that if there is a bug you’ve discovered in some older version, the dev’s aren’t going to go back and repair that issue. They’re going to want to test and develop a fix for the next release. So YES! Unless someone tells you otherwise, you should ALWAYS update to the recommended release!
When I enable it it still shows down, After I enable it I disconnect the rj45 from the Poe and hard reboot the antenna. Once it is rebooted I cannot access the radio. So I plug back in the rj45 into the poe and connect the rj45 to my laptop and I can log into the radio and it shows aux down even with it enabled. Fiber was tested and good so I am suspecting sfp module on radio.
Question, why is aux port enabled by default in 5.8?
