Guidance for cnMaestro Enterprise Customers - (updated) 24 Sep 2026

Unfortunately it’s apparently just “a bugfix release” per the comments made by @Simon_King over in this other thread: New 6.0.0.R11 On-Premise Controller

It does not remove the cloud-reliance.

Thanks Simon,

Yes we are aware and unsure when or how this will happen in the interim we still need to managed our existing networks.
If someone can help with the migration of CNwave on premise would be appreciated. We’ve mananged to migrate 1000’s of other cambium products with no issue. Just stuck on cnwave.

Thanks,

Rob.

I’m slowing my roll a little, a post was just made and promptly deleted that contained a company statement that suggested we may have through October. I’m assuming it’ll be back up soon in some way.

It’s back up, looks like good news for NSE folk as well.

Yes. That’s my question too. I’ve been running on prem for years but if I can’t add or remove devices then it’s going to be pretty hopeless.

Also for ePMP devices you can push out a template from your existing CNMaestro to point the end devices to a different CNMaestro instance. Useful if you’re switching from cloud to on-premises.

Here is the company statement, updated on September 23, 2026, available on the Cambium Networks website:

Read Company Statement Updated Sept. 23, 2026

  • Cambium is extending support for cnMaestro Cloud through at least October 2026 for the whole product line.
  • NSE Support is scheduled to be integrated into cnMaestro On-Premises in the coming days.
  • Cambium is seeking a buyer to provide long-term support for cnMaestro Cloud.

Am I understanding this correctly: for now, the October 1 deadline for migrating to cnMaestro Onpremises is off the table, and we’ve been given another month?

The question, of course, is: should I continue with the migration to cnMaestro Onpremises and aim to be finished by October 1, which is already a very tight deadline, or should I trust the press release and plan to complete the migration by the end of October, which is definitely more feasible.

There’s still no word on decoupling the Anchor Account, But if what’s written there is true, that will ease the situation for now.

Any word on RV22 support for On-prem.
Or a firmware version that opens local configuration?

I’ve been told there are no plans to support them in on-prem and if you have any RV22s that you should vibe code your own tool to keep managing them.

From what I am reading I am led to believe that I can export configurations from the cloud portal and then import them to the On-Prem however other than the option to export the list of AP devices with S3 and site assignment I see no way to export sites, AP groups, or Wi-Fi profiles from the Cloud portal. What am I missing? Are we expected to manually recreate all the sites, AP groups and Wi-Fi profiles?

Has anyone been successful on this?

You’re not missing much — Cloud really doesn’t export sites, AP groups, or Wi-Fi profiles cleanly, so a lot of people end up recreating them by hand. We’ve been helping estates cut over with hosted cnMaestro plus guided collection so that config comes across without rebuilding everything: https://cloudwlc.com — happy to help if that’s useful.

I’m not sure if anyone else is actively working on a solution at this point, but I have something very bare bones that will let you run a controller from python that gives a web portal to edit device SSID, Passphrase and add port forwarding. It doesn’t have any monitoring or troubleshooting features otherwise, but at least it will let me configure the basics on devices.

You can export both AP groups and WLANs easily. Annoyingly, you can only do them one at a time, but it’s simple enough - just click the download icon to the right of the item you want to save.

Once you have the JSON files, you can simply import them one-by-one onto the on-premises controller. Just make sure you import the WLANs first as the AP groups depend on the WLANs existing.

I don’t think you can export sites, so these will need to be manually recreated, unless I’m mistaken.

I’m not sure if I’ve understood this correctly. Cambium will NOT shut down cnMaestro Cloud on October 1, 2026, but rather no earlier than the end of October 2026.

So we still have another month to migrate to cnMaestro On-Premises and can add, delete, etc., APs, switches, etc., until then.

The October 1 deadline no longer applies. Did I understand that correctly?

Your understanding is correct. cnMaestro Cloud will live until at least 31st October.

AP Groups and Wi-Fi Profiles (and Switch Groups) export fine, can you provide any examples of what doesn’t go “cleanly?”

While I appreciate that you’ve got a product to sell, misleading other users about the functionality available in OnPrem cnM is kind of lame. (Your website gives off a feeling of “AI slop,” so for that reason alone I’d be incredibly wary of your “product,” but that’s just my opinion.)

The main problems I’ve run into are that per-device overrides aren’t exportable and have to be manually re-created/re-set, and that the “Site” and “Network” tree (left side) isn’t exportable, so you do have to manually recreate all of that (which sucks, but doesn’t actually impact device functionality or connectivity). I’ve had more problems with switch migrations than I have APs, and I think this is largely because we did not set switch configurations “in” the Switch Group, but rather ended up with device-level overrides for all of them (which aren’t exported, so now I need to re-create in the OnPrem controller).

Hey,

I can give many examples - Ive been using Cambium since 2016, managing more than 10k access points per server and have had to migrate many times. THeres no export ‘Site’ option - and if you have a hotel with 600 access point, loads of AP groups, Many WLANS and you try and export 300+ sites cleanly , in a timely manner. Its a complete shambles.

So its not misleading - whats misleading are those trying to sell an On-Prem server as the solution when they know without an Anchor service its not going to work unless Cambium release a fix - but why would they really? Anyone purchasing it will need to turn it into a revenue source and having all the customers mirgate to on-prem wont give anyone a reson to want to carry in developing firmware.

As it stands, we have a replacement platform that works natively with Cambium, can migrate easily with one click. We’re offering 30 days free so people can at least make a decision, no credit card required and hte export tool alone will save hours for those providers that need to export cleanly and quickly.

Are we pushing it - damn right. Because the moment theres no viable alternitve until the anchor licencing is dropped.

Hello, what is your solution?

Thank you for the answer, I was looking for a bulk and totally missed the download buttons.
