Help with wireless deployment

Hi:
I have installed
some motorola canopy devices for my wireless network and i’m having some
doubts with configuration.

Here is a map of my network:


All this links are point to point. I’m using only 5700BHRF20 devices with
reflector for my point to point links.

What should be the best configuration for me? I would really appreciate
your help. Do I need a CMM unit? I’m using this devices only as point to
point in 5.7 Ghz, none of them is acting like an access point.

The average distance between sites is 25 kms.

You are not using a CMM anywhere in this config? The ideal place for a cmm would be right in the middle where you have 4 masters. I have seen problems arise with a BH10 link because it was set to generate its own sync. When I changed it to receive sync from power port (cmm micro) is worked flawlessly.

Is this a working system? or something you are trying to make work?

I agree with wireless. Use the CMM to generate GPS Sync and propagate sync from there to the rest of the BH’s

Well, this a working config. I have already installed this devices and they are working.
The problem is i’m having some “unstability” because each 5 minutes aprox I loose ping packets and response times increase about 1250 - 2000 miliseconnds. This happens if i ping from 3 to 4 (according to the pic i posted) or 4 to 7.

I’m really confused. But if i have to change all positions of my devices I will do it. I’m just looking for the best configuration. Thanks a lot.

With my limited abilites, I don’t see how your current config, will ever work correctly. with out several changes.

If you dont have good jitter ping could increase sometimes! Check jitter and RSSI. On 10Mbps you must have 2-3 and for 20Mbps you can have 7-9. With this jitter you can expect to have 5-7 ms.
What bandwidth you rich on this distance? 7Mbps?

Hmmm…that kinda looks like what happens when you don’t use a CMM. :slight_smile:

I am guessing self interference. You need to propagate a single timing signal to all of the Masters in the system.

Cheap way: Set one of the Masters at node 3 to “Generate Sync Signal”. Set the other three Masters to “Sync to Received Signal” (Timing Port). Make a cable to split the sync signal from the Master generating sync to the other 3 Masters.

Right Way: Install CMMmicro at node 3. Set each Master to “Sync to Received Signal” (Power Port).

In either case, you need to recofigure the Master/Slave setup as follows.

Note:
Slaves on nodes 2, 4, 7 closest to node 3 no change

Node 1 - Slave
Node 2 - Master for Node 1
Node 5 - Slave
Node 4 - Master for Node 5
Node 9 - Slave
Node 7 - Master for Node 9
Node 8 - Slave
Node 7 - Master for Node 8

Node 6 - No Change
Node 3 - No Change

The idea is to alternate Master/Slave/Master/Slave so that you can carry the sync signal through the network by linking the timing ports.

For example, Node 3 generates sync and passes it to node 2 Slave. Pass the signal out the timing port of the slave to the next Master.

Each Master needs a unique color code.

As far a frequency selection, you have 6 non-overlapping channels. As long as those channels are quiet, you can use all of them. Assuming they are all fairly quiet, I think I would start with individual channels for:
