Finding it impossible to find even used 2.4Ghz Sync AP’s at any price and just used the last backup. Have 6 2.4Ghz Omni’s in service and a couple of sectors and pretty much the Omni’s can’t be run without sync since all 6 can see each other. The clients on the 2.4 are there because they can’t be put on 5Ghz.
The company that bought my old network is a Ubiquiti WISP so I guess if a AP dies they will have to bite the bullet and swap everyone over to Ubiquiti 2.4 AC ? What is everyone else doing ?
I feel your pain The 5GAX has allowed us to move some customers off of 2.4 but not nearly enough. When Cambium failed to follow through on the 2.4AX, we began trying to gather together what 2.4 we could find. We have one spare PMP450 AP with plenty of SMs and managed to gather together 3 ePMP1000 APs. If one of those would help I can get one headed your way. The ePMP 1000 2.4 AP and connectorized radios have indeed become unobtainium and we need the connectorized radios for the high gain dishes. We constantly check evilbay and very occasionally can snag a few but it can go months. I am getting ready to ship off some to see if they can be repaired. We have considered the Ubuiti gear but have not heard good things about it. We still have some 900 out there as well for the “extreme” customers. We had hoped the 24AX would have let us get rid of those, but not in the cards.
It is originally a hotspot but successfully accepts epmp non gps firmware.
I bought a few there and they work like connectorized radios on 2.4 ghz

Right when Cambium announced the EOL we found a wisp selling bulk used 2.4 force. We bought over 100. Plus, right around that time we lost a neighborhood to fiber that had a lot of 2.4, so we took about 30 back. That has lasted us so far since we don’t do that many 2.4 installs, but I don’t know what we’ll do when we eventually run out… Tell people to go with Starlink?
If it would help someone out, I still have 10x ePMP 1000 connectorized 2.4Ghz radios I never deployed. If someone needs them, I’d make a deal for them. The band was just too congested for me in our area so we just stuck with 5GHz and 3.6Ghz when it first came out.
Cambium Networks has 138 units of C024900C031A and 189 units of C024900D004A available. If you are interested, please email me at scott.imhoff@cambiumnetworks.com.
We moved all our 2.4 GHz to 3 GHz CBRS years ago. All sectors except one omni, but if you really want to use omnis, Alpha Wireless makes one that works nicely with the connectorized AP.
