How to change the login password on cnPilot E-series devices?

Summary:

This document explains how to the change Login password of E-series devices with the help of its GUI and the cnMaestro.

Note: The default username and password for cnPilot devices is admin/admin.

The default username cannot be changed. However, User can change the password as per their requirement.

Cause:

For security reason, User can set the password as per their requirement other than default password.

Solution:

There are two ways to change the Password on cnPilot devices as mentioned below:

 a) Using GUI.

 b) Using cnMaestro cloud or on-premises.

Step1: Please use the below steps to change the password on the GUI:

        a) Login in to the AP using default username and password i.e. admin/admin.

        b) Click on Configuration >> System >> Administrator >> Edit the Admin password as per your requirement.

        c) Click on Save.

Please find the below image for your reference:

Results: You will be able to login into the AP using username as admin and Password which you have configured.

Step 2: If AP is already onboard on the cnMaestro. Please use the below steps to change the password:

        a) Login into the cnMaestro cloud or on-premises server.

        b) Click on Configuration >> WLANs and AP group as shown in the figure below:

     c) Click on AP group >> New AP group (if not created any) or you can edit the existing AP group (for e.g.         Default enterprise) as shown in the figure below:

     d) Click on Basic and enter the name and add the WLAN and save the configuration.

         Note: This needs to be done only while creating the new AP group.

  e) Configure the Password under Management >> Admin Password and click on Save as shown in the figure below:

  f) Push this AP group on the device on which you would like to change the password Under Manage >> System.

  • Select the AP group and checkbox of the device.
  • Click on Apply configuration.
  • You can check if the AP group has been pushed successfully under Application >> Jobs >> Actions

 g) You can check if the AP group has been pushed successfully under Application >> Jobs >> Configuration Update:

Result: You will be able to login into the AP using username as admin and Password which you have configured. I have considered the password as 12345678 as an example.
