iOS 17.6.1 Not Connecting to Cambium Wi-Fi

Hello Cambium Community,

I’m encountering an issue with my iOS device running version 17.6.1. It seems to have trouble connecting to our Cambium Wi-Fi network. Here’s what’s happening:

  • Device: iPhone (running iOS 17.6.1)
  • Issue: The device either fails to connect to the Wi-Fi network or, if it does connect, the connection is unstable.
  • Network Setup: We’re using a Cambium Wi-Fi access point with WPA2 encryption.

Steps I’ve Tried:

  1. Forgetting the network and reconnecting.
  2. Restarting the iPhone.
  3. Restarting the Cambium access point.
  4. Resetting the network settings on my iPhone.

Unfortunately, none of these steps have resolved the issue. Other devices (both iOS and Android) seem to connect just fine. I’m wondering if this might be related to the recent iOS update or if there are specific configurations I should check on the Cambium side.

Has anyone else experienced similar issues with iOS 17.6.1 and Cambium networks? Any suggestions or troubleshooting tips would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks in advance for your help!

Hey @Kawsar_Ahmed! Welcome to the Cambium forums!

What model Cambium AP are you using? Have you tried updating the firmware on the AP to the newest revision?

Hey @Eric_Ozrelic
Thanks for the warm welcome!

I’m using the Cambium AP model XV2-2-3AA1B5 with the Active Software Version 6.6.0.3-r9. I haven’t tried updating the firmware yet. Do you think upgrading to the latest firmware might resolve the connectivity issue with iOS 17.6.1?

If there’s a recommended firmware version or any specific steps I should follow, I’d appreciate your guidance!

Hi Kawsar, you are running the latest firmware 6.6.0.3-r9. I just upgraded an iPhone13 to 17.6.1 and I am able to connect to my XV2-2 also using fw version 6.6.0.3-r9 with WPA2 PSK. Likely something different in our configs. Feel free to send me the AP tech support log taken while you are experiencing the issue at gary.hansen@cambiumnetworks.com .

Thanks,
Gary
