iPad can't connect to E400

I've got a third gen iPad that can't connect to a network of E400's. The logs just say "ap-sent-disassoc-with-code-2". E400 firmware is 3.2.1-r6.

Can you please send the techsupport dump file , you can download from device UI, operations->Download Tech support

Is iPad  getting the ip address assigned and then disconnecting ?

It does not get an IP address.

I tried WPA2 PSK as well (WPA2 Enterprise is the normal method we use) and the iPad will only connect to an open network without WPA2. PSK just gives an incorrect password error on the iPad and the same "ap-sent-disassoc-with-code-2" in syslog. These new E400's replaced a bunch of UBNT UniFi access points.

Where should I send the techsupport file?

Please email it to support@cambiumnetworks.com. We'll check out the logs and see what is going on. thank you.

Just to clarify: it's working fine with other wireless devices I have on hand to try except a third gen iPad. The iPad can associate to UBNT UniFi gear but not to Cambium E400.

Hi,

What is the IOS version running on iPad?

With Regards,
Channareddy

Based on logs, I see that XX-XX-XX-XX-A6-55 is the MAC address

Could you please confirm the MAC address of device?

It is observed that "enhanced romaing" is enabled on your device.

It is recommonded to use/enable "802.11r" if you are looking for seamless roaming.

Thank You.

So I ended up downgrading to firmware 3.1.1.1-r1 becasue cnMaestro (on premise) was returning errors on configuration jobs whenever I'd try to apply profiles to an E400 running firmware 3.2.1-r6.

And it also turns out that downgrading to 3.1.1.1-r1 fixed the problem with the iPad not being able to associate.

It would be helpful, if you could please share error screenshots of cnMaestro and the tech-support on device when you were trying to push the configuration.

Did you disable "enhanced roaming" in 3.1.1.1-R1?

Thank you for your support.

Got the same problem after updating E400 firmware  from version 3.2.1-r6 to 3.3-p16.

Downgrade to 3.2.1-r6 - solve the problem.

Is there a solution to the problem?
Any version above 3.2.1 leads to this problem on:
iPhone, iPad, some HP laptops

All with same log:

Hi AlexeyK,

1. Upgrade latest image E400_E50X-3.4.3-r9.img on AP. You can download it from below link

     https://support.cambiumnetworks.com/files/e400/

2. If still issue is seen, then try connecting again by Disabling "802.11w state" on WLAN profile.

If you still seeing the issue, then please provide the latest techdump support of your AP.

"Disabling "802.11w state" on WLAN profile"

This is solve the problem.

I have a similar issue with an ipad.  Other iPad in home connects fine.  This one connects fine.  However, when it tries to browse Safari it disconnects from wifi and asks to reconnect.  This was on an e400 and now an e500, still presenting the issue.  I've tried just about everything with the ipad and the hotspot.  I ended up enabling wireless on the Mikrotik onsite and connecting to it, and it seems to have resolved the issue.  Not seeing any settings that jump out at me on 500, 802.11w is disabled, manually set the channel and size and all other data is consistant.

What is the software version on the e400/e500? Is it already on 3.4.3.2?

Any difference between the two ipads (one that connects and the other that does not? like different versions of iOS?)

Yes, the AP is on the newest FW.  I don't notice any distinct differences.  I've tried everything from static IP, clear cookies, force 2.4, force 5G, different SSID, different browser, very odd.  Both ipads are running 10.3.3 (14G60)

Ben,

Please share tech-support of your device at shashank.tadakamadla@cambiumnetworks.com
