Launch of X7-53X & X7-55X Wi‑Fi 7 Access Points

Up to 38% lower $/Mbps. We’re excited to welcome two new Wi‑Fi 7 APs to the Cambium community: X7‑53X and X7‑55X—built for mid‑market enterprises and MSPs that want secure, high‑performance Wi‑Fi without complexity or cost creep.

What’s new

  • X7‑53X – Efficient powerhouse for enterprises and MSPs

  • Dual‑band Wi‑Fi 7 (2.4 + 5 GHz) + dedicated IoT radio (Zigbee & BLE 5.1)

  • Does not support 6 GHz (ideal for standardized 5 GHz environments)

  • 1 × 5 GbE uplink; full operation on 802.3at PoE

  • X7‑55X – Flexible tri‑band platform for growth

  • Software‑defined third radio selectable for 5 or 6 GHz + IoT (Zigbee & BLE 5.1)

  • 1 × 5 GbE uplink, 1 × USB for expansion

Both are part of Cambium ONE Network—our single cloud platform that unifies Wi‑Fi, switching, security, SD‑WAN, wireless backhaul, and fiber.

Why the X7 family

  • High performance

  • Wi‑Fi 7 with 320 MHz channels & 4K‑QAM

  • 4×4 MU‑MIMO radios; up to 18 Gbps aggregate air rate

  • Air Cleaner for dense environments + AI‑based Assurance to design and optimize

  • Future‑proof

  • (X7‑55X) SDR lets you time your move to 6 GHz

  • Interference puncturing & MLO (Wi‑Fi 7) to keep latency low

  • Client capability tracking in cnMaestro® to plan upgrades with data

  • Easy upgrades

  • Drop‑in modernization for Wi‑Fi 5/6 estates

  • MarketApps Installer for simple, traceable install from a web app

  • Automated zero‑touch onboarding

  • Flexible mounting (wall/ceiling/T‑bar/J‑box), same bracket as X7‑35X (AX‑X7‑1BRKT‑WW), compatible with XE3‑4 and XV3‑8

ONE Network advantages (especially for MSPs)

  • MSP hierarchy & dashboard for clean multitenancy—manage customers, sites, SLAs at scale

  • Homogeneous, consistent configuration via shared policies, templates, and profiles

  • Single‑pane visibility across Wi‑Fi and wired, with analytics and assurance to reduce tickets

  • Lower TCO through operational simplicity and smart licensing

  • Which use cases are you targeting first (education, hospitality, retail, branches, venues)?

  • Planning 6 GHz soon or maximizing 5 GHz now? How would you split radios on X7‑55X?

  • What automation or MSP dashboard views would help your team most?

Your next‑gen network is closer than you think.

The R370 from Ruckus MSRPs $100 less than the X7-53X.

Is cambium going to have a WiFi7 AP “lower” than the X7-53X?

This is the problem with Darron jumping ship… he has heard me say for years that Cambium needs to beat Ruckus on pricing.

Hi all.

The X7-35X address a different requirement than the R370 and I’d say that just a 100$ difference for having higher quality radios and a tri band AP is pretty good.

Said the above, we’re actively and constantly evaluating new products that are suited for the market and our customers. A dual band WiFi 7 is currently in evaluation.

Stay tuned for new products coming from our end.

I typed 53. Which is dual band and the most direct comparison to the R370.

I have a X7-35X and would NOT put it in a. Customer’s system. I have worked with engineering on several bugs that have not been fully addressed.

Which is to say I don’t have a wifi7 offering from Cambium at the moment. While the UniF–kers who couldn’t care less push out wifi7 gear now.

Thanks for the heads up.

The team has done a great work in addressing issues seen on the X7-35X and included in 7.1.1 which is out, making it more stable and reliable.

The 53X has a robust WiFi interface and a 4x4 radio in 5GHz, though still dual band the quality offered by the X7-53X is expected to outperform the R370 and other low end solutions, so not a fair comparison I’d say.

The initial point was… “Will I have a Cambium Offering that costs LESS than Ruckus?”.

The XV2-2 and XV2-2T have been really good to us based on performance vs price.

They have consistently outperformed the UniF–k gear. Making that back and forth about cost boil down to “What does it COST when it doesn’t work?”

And while I will have environments where I have more faith in Ruckus because of the years of seeing it work where NOTHING ELSE WILL… Its strength becomes its weakness when it comes to WiFi calling and anything that is symmetrical real time.

The idea that Cambium will not have anything Cheaper than Ruckus, will take some back and forth with sales…
