Link planner is unclear to use.

Link planner is incomprehensible and unclear to use. Have you tried the link planner from Ubiquiti? It is much clearer and simpler.

Hi,

LINKPlanner is more complex than some other tools because it provides accurate results. It also provides the detail needed to plan complex link configurations.

Take a few minutes to work throught the tutorial and you should be planning in no time - http://linkplanner.cambiumnetworks.com/doc/quick_tutorial__pmp.html. If your network is more complex then you may find http://linkplanner.cambiumnetworks.com/doc/pmp_network_design.html useful.

Thanks,

Andy

Thank you.

It's okay to be complex for better results, but it's quite complicated. For example, if I want to add an SM module, the procedure is large. I always have to copy the coordinates from google maps. Why don't I just click on the map and tell me the SM module is there?

So there are many other similar things.

If you are using the Windows version of LINKPlanner then you can create places in the online map. You can then use the map to connect to APs, configure the SM, etc.

Did you know you can copy a location from Google Earth and paste it in Link Planner as new subscriber/site?

"How to select cambim sector with ePMP 3000?"

When you select ePMP 3000 as an AP, this is the antenna LINKPlanner offers:

C050910D301 ePMP 4x4 MU-MIMO Sector Antenna (for ePMP3000AP)

Does that help you?

Thank you for your suggestions about how to make LINKPlanner better.

We can't improve LINKPlanner without knowing how it needs to improve!

One of our RTMs, Brian Chan, did a great LINKPlanner overview on YouTube.  Also, many of our partners and distributors have engineering resources that can help provide the design's for you.
