Hi,

I had the pleasure of attending a training course at Cambium’s facility in Chicago in April 2025, where I received training on PMP products as well as the LinkPlanner software tool.

I am currently using LinkPlanner version 6.4.2, and I would like to sincerely thank you for developing such an excellent and user-friendly network design tool.

I would like to share an observation that I hope your team will consider. When creating a microwave link project, some site names need to be entered in Arabic, as the customer prefers the site names to appear in Arabic.

However, when generating the project proposal report, the Arabic site names do not display correctly. Instead, they appear as disconnected characters or square boxes. (see attached).

I would greatly appreciate it if your development team could investigate this issue and, if possible, add proper Arabic and Unicode language support in a future release.

Once again, I truly appreciate the efforts of the LinkPlanner team in developing such a valuable and easy-to-use software tool. I hope this feedback will be helpful and that this issue can be addressed in a future update.

Hi,

I’m glad that you are finding LINKPlanner useful. It seems like it is an issue with missing fonts on the servers which generate the reports. we did make changes a while back to try to cover more character sets, but it seems that we have missed some. Please export your project file and send it to linkplanner@cambiumnetworks.com. We can try to update the fonts to fix the issue.

In the future we may move away from the PDF reports to HTML reports. These will generate more quickly and it will allow you to use your own fonts.
