LINKPlanner v4.6.0 Now Available

A new release of the LINKPlanner is available from https://support.cambiumnetworks.com/files/linkplanner

The key features of V4.6.0 are:

New or changed features

  • PTP 670
    • Introduced 5 GHz PTP 670

Added PTP 670 at 4.9, 5.1, 5.2, 5.4, 5.8 and 5.9 GHz bands, introducing new Cambium antennas for the 5.1 to 5.8 GHz frequency bands

  • Updated antenna list for PTP 670 ATEX/HAZLOC to use new Cambium unlicensed antenna range
  • Added 1 year extended warranty automatically to BOM
  • PTP 700 Rel 700-02-50
    • Increased maximum number of Slaves in HCMP to 8

The maximum number of slaves is dependent on the bandwidth and requires 40 MHz to increase from the previous 4 to 8 slaves

  • Introduced different symmetry options

The symmetry options are dependent on both bandwidth and the maximum number of slaves, with the following combinations supporting more than symmetric:

  • 20 MHz
    • 2 Slaves supports 3:1, 2:1, 1:2 and 1:3
    • 3 Slaves supports 2:1 and 1:2
  • 40 MHz
    • 2 and 3 slaves support 4:1, 3:1, 2:1, 1:2, 1:3 and 1:4
    • 4 slaves support 3:1, 2:1, 1:2 and 1:3
    • 5 and 6 slaves support 2:1 and 1:2
    • Increased max range to 40 km for most configurations

The exception is that 1:2 and 2:1 symmetries with TDD sync and 6 slaves is only supported up to 31.8 km

  • Added 1 year extended warranty automatically to BOM
  • CMM5
    • Added CMM5 as a Sync option for both PTP 670 and PTP 700 (including HCMP)

Added CMM5 as an alternate Sync option. When this option is selected the CMM5 is used as the power source for the Master radio or AP radio in HCMP, therefore the radio kit is changed in the BOM to an individual radio and bracket together with the CMM5 components

  • PMP 450 family Rel 15.1.1
    • PMP 450m
      • Added 5, 10 and 15 MHz bandwidths
      • Improvements in uplink sensitivity

Improvements in the uplink beamforming processing gain have resulted in the majority of SMs achieving 1 mod mode better on the uplink

  • Updated antenna pattern

A new antenna pattern for PMP 450m has been incorporated in this release. This may make a small change in receive level prediction, where some SMs will show an improved antenna gain and some may show a reduction in antenna gain. It is possible for an SM to increase or drop a modulation mode, which will affect the predicted throughput for individual SMs and overall at the AP.

  • Updates to country regulations, including new countries
  • PMP/PTP 450/450i
    • Addition of 15 MHz in DFS countries for PMP
    • Updates to country regulations
    • Removed 5 MHz duty cycle restriction

The 5 MHz bandwidth now supports the full range of downlink data options from 15 to 85%, unless restricted by country regulations

  • Updated US DFS duty cycle restriction to apply to 450i and 450m as well as 450

The US and other countries that follow US in DFS regions such as Canada and Mexico are restricted to a maximum of 75% downlink data

  • PTP 820
    • Added a “Clear All” option on the frequency selection tables

This applies to the frequency selection tables where multiple path options are available in the table and allows all channels to be cleared simultaneously.

  • Updated Installation reports

Installation reports have been updated to correct radio port and slot numbering in line with Rel 9.0

  • Added 1 year extended warranty automatically to BOM
  • PTP 800
    • Updated couplers to new part numbers to replace obsolete parts

The symmetric and asymmetric couplers have all been updated, with the exception of 6 GHz, where the couplers are now obsolete.

  • Notification of Dual-Pol antennas with OMK going obsolete

The Common Dual Polar Antenna (Direct Mount) used in 2+0 Cross-Polar configurations will be obsolete by the end of August. The remote mount option will still be available.

  • Added 1 year extended warranty automatically to BOM
  • PTP 600
    • Retired 45600 and 48600

These products are no longer available to order, but can still be planned in LINKPlanner

Bug Fixes

  • Ensure that PTP 700 Lite radio kit selection follows correct defaults from Options and country selections

PTP 700 Lite was not following the line cord selection in Options

  • Unlicensed PTP – added additional LPU to Optional Extras

Added a single LPU option to Optional Extras, which can be used for the GPS cable

  • Corrected issue with reflection parameters causing infinite loop on rules processing
