multiple NAS IPs for Radius proxy - multiple NPS as Radius Server

Hi,

is there a way to use multiple IPs for Radius Proxy NAS IP? We want to use two NPS as Radius target. With AAA Servers you can do of course, but for single point of administration it would be great to do that in Radius proxy

In Configuration → Wi-Fi Profiles → WLAN → AAA Servers, you can configure up to three AAA (RADIUS) servers.
When RADIUS Proxy is enabled in cnMaestro, the proxy will forward requests to whichever AAA server the AP selects based on its configuration and failover logic.

If you are looking for a mode where the AP sends all RADIUS traffic to cnMaestro (single AAA entry on the AP) and cnMaestro itself holds the configuration for multiple upstream RADIUS servers — handling the load balancing and failover internally — this is not supported in the current version.

hi. thanks for the reply. the target is to use maestro as radius proxy and to forward requests to 2 different (failover) NPS servers.

could you please just confir which settings are exactly needed?

  • in Administration / Settings / Advanced Features enable “Radius Proxy”
    • NAS IP: this IP is the IP of cnmaestro which I set up in NPS as “radius client”
  • In Wifi Profiles / AP Groups / “my AP group” / Network / Radius Server I set up up to 3 radius servers and can configure failover or load balance as Server Pool Mode

can you confirm, that this is the correct workflow?

Yes this is the correct workflow.
