Applicable platforms: AX generation
Applicable versions: 5.11.0 and above
Firmware version 5.11 introduces several performance enhancements, with a primary focus on 6 GHz platforms, while also delivering noticeable improvements on 5 GHz systems. These optimizations are designed to increase efficiency, scalability, and overall network performance in real-world deployments.
Key enhancements include:
- Improved PPS performance in TDD mode, enabling more efficient packet processing and higher throughput.
- Enhanced scaling capabilities, allowing better performance as the number of connected subscriber modules (SMs) increases.
- Optimized MU-MIMO scheduling and grouping, resulting in more effective spatial stream utilization and improved aggregate capacity.
The charts below illustrate the performance gains observed on an ePMP 4600 4x4 Access Point with 65 F4625 Subscriber Modules connected. This test setup reflects an average real-world deployment scenario: not all SMs operate at maximum modulation rates, and not all SMs are eligible for MU-MIMO grouping. The objective of these results is not to showcase peak throughput, but rather to highlight the measurable performance improvements achieved when upgrading from firmware 5.10 to 5.11.
