Onboarding variables being ignored

Hi Guys

Wondering if anyone has a similar problem.

We have ap-groups with a default overrides config file and a bunch of variables such as SSID / Phone numbers / Other settings.

When we onboard a router, we select the AP Group from our list of 'default configurations'. We fill in the custom variable fields and approve the router for onboarding.

When it is actually onboarded the custom variable fields are ignored and blank on the config screen. We have to wait for the onboarding to complete and re-enter the custom variable field values then re-sync or re-push out the config to the router.

Hi Ray,

Thank you for reporting this issue.  We have opened a ticket in our tracker for this and are investigating.

To confirm, is this for cnPilot Home APs?

Hi Ray,

Can you share the  product model details and the parameters you are trying to push thru user-override variables.

Regards

Variables are within our custom config - things like ip address, ssid, wpa2 password, sip phone config fields etc (see screenshot posted above)

AP Group = Default configuration template for our subscriber home routers.

1) We have an AP Group set up

The AP group has a full config for the router in the "User Defined Overrides" with some custom variables with default options for things like SSID password phone details etc.

2) When onboarding we use the serial number to claim the device and before approving it, we select the AP Group from the dropdown and input the specific variables for the customer such as SSID and their phone line details.

3) We approve the router for onboarding

4) When the router onboards, none of the variables are used and they are missing from the config page - only the variable default values.

Thank you for the details Ray.

It appears there is a problem with the forums - whenever i upload a screenshot image, it dissappears a few days later. Clicking the screenshot attachments above just shows an error message.

I can download and see all your images just fine. Have you tried uploading the images inline instead of as an attachement?
