one of my AP just stopped transmitting

One of my AP’s on my network stopped transmitting and i had to reboot before it came back transmitting, what might be the possible cause of it , so i can avoid it next time and so my clients wont have downtimes.
Thanks in advance

when it stops transmitting can you still access the AP?

does it still have SM’s registered to it?

how many sites do you have?

have you run a spectrum test yet?

I have had maybe a total of 3 times where my AP did that…a quick reboot resolved it. 3 times out of 30+ AP’s in 3 years, i can live with that

One of my AP also stoped transmiting, after changing control slots from 1 to 2. It never resumed. I could see it in AP eval data but noone could register. RMA.

Hi Vince;
When it stopped transmitting there no SM’s registered on it and i was able to access the AP.
I have 3 sites for now
I look forward for your reply

yeah thats the same thing that happened to me.

like i said it was very very rare.

I wouldnt worry about it to much if it only happened once.

what firmware are you running on the AP?

do you have a cacti ez box? I wonder if you could set an alert for a drop in the registered SM count…

Hello Vince,
i guess i am on canopy 7.0.7 as my firmware and i do have a cacti ez box.
i just to prevent it from ocurring again and it really gives me concern as i do search for the cause of it.
I do look forward to reading from you.
